Svyaznoy Bank came into existence in 2010 as the result of a merger of two large companies: Svyaznoy and Promtorgbank.

As of 2014, Svyaznoy provided services to 1.5 million private individuals and more than 3,000 organizations that worked in the fields of finance, wholesale and retail, industry, transportation and communication. The total number of staff was 2 037.
